Although the two sexes do various work in just about every country, the pattern is not always similar. In part, it is dependent on how rich and industrialized a country has become. As a country gets richer and people use more machines to produce things, women stay at home to avoid taking positions in factories or in big farms. A number of women find it difficult to get jobs especially when the office decoration that their setting have is not suitable for women.
Office positions like secretaries, clerks, typists or bookkeepers are the positions most women possess. Other positions may be selling different products like appliances, clothes and cars. Some factories that have women employed take on light industies, such as canning of foods or packaging of drugs. Up until now, there are limited number of women who are working in heavy industries like iron or steel. This is because the design and the artchitecture of a workplace must be suitable to its employees.
Teaching and health care provide most opportunities for women among the professions that require a college or university education. However, generally, women hold the less important roles in these areas. An example would be, on hospitals, women nurse are abundant while women doctors or hospital administrators are rare. Also in the educational area, there are more women teaching elementary school than in colleges and there are fewer women school principals then men.
However, this is not always the case because in some cases, women are empowered and are leaders, initiators and executives of different firms. They possess high positions in the government and in their respective firms. They are also identified by their endurance and determination in their work when compared to men. Also, in some instances, hiring women is more preferred since they are more disciplined than men.
We may look at this topic differently. It really is dependent on the location or country that we are at. In some cases, the country that we have still discriminates women, some defends them while some still fights for women's rights. Different races may look at this topic differently. It just is dependent on how we look at it.
